That's just not true though, shorting (just like going long) will naturally impact the price, but where is your proof that "a lot" of it is done with the intention to manipulate? It isn't, it's merely other people trying to make a profit.
Longs create buying pressure without first causing sell pressure, why must shorters create buy pressure before creating sell pressure? Your reasons are not logical.
I'll be the first to say that I hope PLS shorters burn, but they're certainly not doing anything remotely close to illegal.
