A. Remuneration policy and elements of remuneration
(a) Remuneration philosophy
The performance of the Company depends upon the quality of its people. To prosper, the Company must attract, motivate and retain highly skilled directors and executives. To this end, the Company embodies the following principles in its compensation framework: set competitive remuneration packages to attract and retain high calibre employees; link executive rewards to shareholder value creation; maintain a significant portion of executive compensation ‘at risk’, dependent upon meeting pre-determined performance benchmarks; and establish appropriate, demanding performance hurdles for variable executive remuneration.
