Side wall cores can be subjected to a large number of tests and measurements...basically divided into Routine and Special Core Analysis.
When a client "goes back" to the lab it's either to clarify ambiguous results or to order additional testing on cores. In the case of ambiguous results a client might order a repeat analysis on the same core to confirm results of the initial analysis.
Note that Core laboratories holds ISO 17025 certification.....this makes tweaking results at client's request very difficult.
