About 15 years ago when the QLD Gov gave the LNG proponents a licence to export gas, the domestic gas shows were told they would be assisted.Unlike the 15% gas reserve in WA.
The QLD and Fed GOV each put $5m into a concept study of a pipeline from Nth Bowen Basin south. This was followed by a market viability study which the QLD gov now has but not released.
The proposed QPME northern hub would be built in 3 stages total 24 Pj p/a. TECH stages 1+2 plus TPS = 32 Pj p/a.
The MGP presently can treat and compress about 24 Pj p/a although this can be increased. Soooo if the pipeline south was built perhaps the MGP could send some gas south. Not forgetting BLU is very keen on the pipeline.
This is just my thought bubble and if it happens could be a fair way down the track.
