Former AFL player Phil Egan has been arrested and charged with 73 offences after he allegedly stole from an organisation that helps Indigenous communities.
Former Richmond forward Phil Egan and author of the report into racism at Hawthorn Football Club has been hit with more than 70 charges after he was alleged to have stolen from an Indigenous body.
Victorian Police confirmed on Thursday they had arrested a man after an investigation into fraud matters between 2010 and 2015.
“Detectives from the Financial Crime Squad have charged a man today as part of an investigation into allegations of fraud relating to the management of a Robinvale-based organisation,” a statement read.
“A 60-year-old Aberfeldie man was charged on summons today with 73 offences including obtain financial advantage by deception (32), use false document (33) and secret commission (8).”
