    Eagle888,

"After the Coalition got the boot and the worst GFC in 70 years hit the Opposition would have sold business and hundreds of thousands of jobs down the drain by opposing the stimulus and refusing to go into deficit. We would have slipped into recession, unemployment would have skyrocketed."

    Prove it with facts....you can't.

That just yr opinion...you have no idea what the Coalition would have done but I will bet london-to-a-brick would not have ended up with $150b of debt...

"We had a pittance in the bank given the boom times over many years"

    You have selective memory Eagle888

Geez Labor left $90b of debt in 1996 and Coalition paid it all off, left $20b in the bank, $70b in the future fund gave massive personal and company tax, and did a host of other things. but ofc you dont want to know this...

And BTW i know you hate this but have a look at the terms of trade. They really only started to go in early to mid 2006 not in 2000 as you try to make out. So the Coalition might have 18 months maybe 24 months at best when the boom was on. So that makes what they did even bettter

Ohhhh and thought we were not going to stoop to name calling ...

    Cheers
    Muzz
