The crux of all this bitterness stems from the fact that Miners are allowed to go on to anyones freehold land and rape whatever resource is there.

The land owners may get a few dollars compensations for any damage etc.

Many overseas first world countries have a system that shares the wealth with the land owner.

What would the Kingaroy farmers be saying if they had a massive fanancial stake in the success of UCG mining projects.
