Much as I'm disappointed with this outcome, I agree, I don't think sacking Silviu is a smart move. He still has a good reputation (albeit a little more tarnished now), a deep understanding of the science and an ability to explain the science to investors. Maybe down the track he might step back into a CSO type role, but now is not the time IMHO.

I'd be looking at the Board. We brought people on with great fanfare as to how they were going to bring partnerships, or better FDA outcomes, or whatever. The results have been underwhelming to say the least. One director has been there for 20 years - he may well be terrific but that is too long.

The Board is massively overpaid compared to other companies in the sector, and is not producing results. Time for a Board spill, get some decent people on there and let them sort out who should occupy the C-suite and what resources are needed - I suspect the US office particularly is overstaffed given there are no actual trials running right now.

We need a clean broom through the place, but let's not shoot ourselves in the foot by firing Silviu!
