I see in todays Australian St Barbara,s acquisition of Moose River in 2019 was rated amongst Australia,s worst corporate deals with a write down of $1.2bn after a purchase price of $1.35bn. Interestingly at the time of the May 2019 closure Mr Vassie opined that "he was confident the purchase of Moose River would deliver long term value to St Barbaras shareholders". How could we be so lucky to have him on Aurelia,s board. The Dargues purchase hardly rates compared with that.
