2D estimates are ALWAYS big.... as the upside is infltated to capture uncertainty, if the mean value for a resource does not get smaller after a 3D someone is being very very naughty... oil & gas exploration is NOT like minerals, where dotted lines and "OPEN AT DEPTH" indicate areas of no information and the upside remains large... the reason WDS shot more 3D was to delinate the entire play as turbidie sequences are not all reservoir, there is a lot of shale in the gross structure
