I don't think BHP will just try to take over HAV. Just look at the share registry. I think the management and previous management hold a blocking stake. That's why they were able to repel Mr Gupta's GFC alliance, when it was trying to take it over. Chris Giles knows what the company has and what its worth.

I suspect whether BHP decides to T/O HAV or not depends more on their own plans for development of a Cu smelter in the area and progress on Muttaroo. That is quite a ways off. There are other variables like the price of sulphur that come into play too.
