You're not saying that the only way to implement a strategic partnership is through a cash offer are you?
What if the deal was for a 50% JV stake in Gonneville whereby both parties must contribute equally to all costs?
Your deal just becomes a commitment for CHN to pour massive cash into the project or their new strategic partner walks away (maybe even triggering penalties). No cash offer. From memory that was the type of deal KDR did with their lithium. But luckily for them their half of the project was bought out with cash from Wesfarmers.
But you're just focused on the cash right? There's no other way to do a partnership?
