I would venture to say (ii), based on the fact that (a) we achieved the primary endpoint of the phase 2 trial despite such small numbers, and (b) we have over-recruited on the Phase 3 trial and closed the trial well ahead of the end of the cold season. One could easily envisage a 'below expectation' scenario where the Phase 2 trial did not achieve statistical significance on the primary endpoint, and/or where (based on the recruitment rates in 2022) the Phase 3 trial was still struggling to recruit its target by October, with the cold season fast disappearing.
