i hope you are right but csg also has the big problem of the facct it needs to extract the water - early talk of the aquifers being seperate from the shallower ones has given way to some uncertainty - plus you have the problem of preventing leaks from one aquifer to another due to the high numbers of wells being drilled and the almost impossible task of adequately sealing whilst drilling and/or the supervision of such.
there was ( and is) some work being done on reinjecting water but of course it is very slow and expensive and hard to find suitable aquifers nearby - currently seems to be self defeating if they put water in same aquifer they are trying to get gas out of so need to find aquifers that are porous and also have a lower water quality than what they intend to pump back into it
some of you know i have been worried about water and salt issues with csg for a couple of years - i was very worried a year ago, then with even more corporate action i felt comforted - "they couldnt spend that much money if they thought there was a big production risk - could they?"
well, i think they could - i sold my bow the other day, sold arrow before the demerger and sold down some westside - still have some esg and the more diverse stocks being sto and org. suspect bow to be the pick of them if and when the water issues get solved - however, if not there is a very real risk of only two csg to lng projects being allowed by government, and even then there may be a lot of extra expense imposed on them.
books may be written on how the entrepeneurs in qgc, aoe, shg, pes, ( to some extent roma) and the private pangea got away with the money!! I often kicked myself for not rolling all my takings from qgc into shg then pes then aoe - i could have got away with it as aoe nearly done and dusted, but to those of you who did good on you, but the scenario i was worried about looks more than just a possibility now. I was fortunate to have done well with qgc and pes particularly, but I now do not have much money in csg stocks.
incidentally i was even more worried about ucg - and have dabbled just a little in all - i have linc at present, but just because of its coal mining leases in cq. a friend of mine in the mining game assured me that ucg was safe!- I do not know who to believe but i know a lot of nasties ( besides co2) go out of a coal burning power station chimney.
