My son works in construction, managing projects right across Melbourne and into a few nearby semi rural towns.
He and his builder partners made no money in the last 7 months despite fully employing their build team and using lots of subbies. Everyone got paid though had to dip big time into the business overdraft. Building materials, labour shortages and planning issues at council killed them. They have kept going but lots of their subbies are going broke, not getting paid and getting caught up in the tsunami of building company insolvencies.
All of my sons capital along with his building partners is tied up in the business.
But what would Albanese or Andrews care? They are on guaranteed wages and bucket loads of freebie expenses. A pox on both of them.
