Ann: US Defence Extends Testing Contract with AML3D, page-2

Great news, another 370k and the US Navy must clearly be satisfied and keen for more.

I Remembered this article from a quite a while back that really got me interested in AL3 - Products from Micro-X, QPE Machining and AML3D go on public display - Australian Manufacturing Forum (aumanufacturing.com.au). They had already done work on a Nickel-Aluminium-Bronze valve that was designed for a submarine to show off her ability to provide parts quicker and to higher standard than traditional casting methods. At the time it was shown that 'the exercise, an unquestionable success, demonstrated the speed to market and part quality of this process versus traditional methods.' Definitely goes a long way to show her flexibility working with different alloys. We have now seen Aluminum-Magnesium-Scandium alloy and Nickel-Aluminum-Bronze being utilized to delivery higher performance parts at quicker speeds than traditional methods.

As usual the market could not care less but I suppose it is only 370k and there is no guarantee of further contracts or sales following the completion of this extended contract. However, I really do like the trend, validation and expansion of her relationships with these big clients.

Initial Chevron contract - contract extension - site visit - contract negotiations.

Initial US Navy purchase order with contract - additional purchase - contract extension - further contract negotiations.

IMO it's only a matter of time before we get some bigger contract news. Hopefully we get a new US CEO soon and a better presentation that elaborates on what she is actually trying to do in the US. At least the recent news can act to keep us at or above the 6-7 cent zone.
