Personally, I thought Putin's is the best amongst the man eating leadership available to Russians. I worked in Russia and know a bit of Russian mindset. One that would have got Russia on the front foot was Borys Nemtsov who was killed by Putin. Nemtsov was Yeltsyn's man too but Putin swayed him and ignited imperialism in Duma to become the president. Current Russian PM Mishustin is the only current leader of substance IMO. Putin killed his opportunity to unite and lead Russia to prosperity by invading Ukraine.
