The way i see this announcement is that it is an insurance policy for RNU. What it does is it puts ANZAPLAN in between RNU and EGRs patent. If by some miracle EGR manages to hold onto the patent, their fight will be with ANZAPLAN not RNU.
Then absolute worse case, RNU will be able to go after ANZAPLAN if it is proven that they copied the process from EGR.
The other thing to keep in mind, is that it is about purifying to graphite for PSG, we are not planning on actually using the process until the end of 2025 so plenty of time for ANZAPLAN to kill it off.
