    Hi Panda

IMO there is "market failure" everywhere you look.

There is insufficient trader or speculator money to go around and its the same money that jumps between plays. At the beginning of the year it was BCC, VIL & SSN. When one was up the other was down. SSN did eventially go up and the other 2 did, like GDN, go down (for the time being).

The other thing to remember is that the market is currently very slow to respond to fundumental news. For example, I had heaps of time to very substantially top up my SSNO free carry @ 2.4c in the face of complete market intransigence & butterflies. I missed out on the first 25% or so of gain but that's all I missed out on.

Similarly, smart, modestly healed GDN players can set their buys to trigger IF certain thresholds on SP & volume are hit and they have a good chance of getting what they want even if GDN announced that all the company's dreams have come true. There is ,in any case, near certaintly that Allegra clients will quickly sell into any good news for a profit.

My current thinking is that the down rampers are playing the cards correctly here, sitting , waiting , depressing the SP a tad (as if any assistance was needed for that) and with contingent buy orders set. They have everything to gain & no money on the table to lose. The market does not pretend to be either perfect or fair and it can rip to shreds trading strategies that are based on the emotions that succeed for us elsewhere in day to day life (eg loyalty, teamship etc).

You can't play these sort of games with larger investments. Larger holders just have to place their bets and for the best part, hope & pray for the best.

    cheers
