I don't think there is any question that Putin was drawn into this , probably unwillingly. I think the change of tactics to attrition after the first month or so may reflect his realization that there was not going to be a quick decapitation of the kiev regime. The world is quite divided now with the lines becoming more defined by the day and Russia has supporters as well, including possibly China. If so it will be a battle royalle imo , and something we can all look forward to being directly involved in .
