I’m addition to being involved in getting Goulamina’s permits off the ground (first as Country Manager for consultancy Digby Wells, then with FFX internally), Semega is also the GM of the Mali subsidiary owning/running Goulamina (Lithium du Mali SA) while still concurrently being the Chair of the Mali company still owning/running Morila (Morila SA).
As much as I don’t like it, it doesn’t seem an outrageous leap for Mali officials to raise an eyebrow at overlapping people in key roles, shifting of assets to one company with some overlapping ownership while leaving debts with the other etc. only for the parent company to then almost immediately cease funding and look to walk away from in-country liabilities of its subsidiary.
