The border of north and south Vietnam were fought by a ceasefire line negotiated by both camps in Geneva. It was not imposed by colonial invaders. France the colonial invader was humiliatedly driven out of Vietnam after the battle of Diebianfu by the combined Asian forces of Vietnam and China.
