I think you are on the ball and I do believe that the Biota management is pretty sure that this product will make it thru the clinical trials otherwise they would not have taken the decision to fund it themselves.
Time will tell but I trust them to know what they are doing when it comes to antivirals and the other products that they keep advancing in their labs.
