Weebit - 2023 and beyond, page-2032

Hello everyone,

I believe I've mentioned this previously, but it's crucial that we closely examine the collaboration between Weebit and Global Foundries (GF). It's been more than 8 1/2 months since the tape-out of the 22nm project. Simultaneously, Global Foundries is actively advancing their own RRAM (CBRAM) through their association with Adesto.
It appears to me that Global Foundries may be favoring their own RRAM technology over Weebit's, even though the latter might offer superior attributes. If there were a shared interest for GF to expedite the commercialization of Weebit's RRAM, one would expect a faster pace. However, it seems they're progressing rather slowly.
It's also noteworthy that Global Foundries has been notably reserved and cautious about disclosing any updates concerning their collaboration with Weebit. The reasons for this approach are worth considering.
My view is that a substantial move towards commercialization and a noteworthy reevaluation hinges on the involvement of an Integrated Device Manufacturer (IDM) such as STMicro.
I've also inquired with Coby regarding the progress of the 22nm project at GF, here is his response:

"Hi,

Global Foundries (GF), like other foundries, makes its money by selling wafers. ReRAM and other IPs are just an enabler for them to sell more wafers. For that reason, it is less critical for them what the source of the ReRAM is, as long as it is valuable for bringing more customers and selling more wafers.
Having said that, they are now exploring both ReRAMs to see how they can help them sell more wafers.
The schedule to get the wafers is long, and very frustrating. It mainly reflects the priority of development/ internal work vs. production work that brings in money.
We will update the market once we have news.
