If so much work is outsourced there must be a large number of public servants being sacked ??
Also fires are not the only method of reducing fuel, but of course it is the cheapest so wins every time
Plus ground fires were very effective when all the trees were 30 t0 40 meters high
With the mainly scrubby stuff now they are dangerous and bad for the forest
And you did not mention to plant fire resistant trees in the house area not gum trees
There is a lot known about hat should be done and what the public should be educated to do
But the simple fact is no one in Canberra works for us and those that do could not care less if you get burnt out
