Im only speculating and I could be a long way off.However as you stated it makes no sence for them to raise money now when sp is so low (1c) and they have enough cash for years at current burnout rate .However if they have capped the placement to a minimum of .8c and have an arrangement with another party for a placement price related to sp movement it makes good sence to take advantage of expected sp surge with a favourable court case result.Things are now in place with no date set for placement so if sp surges an opportune date can be set to get maximum bang.
So it is possible this move shows confidence in court case and future sp movement.
