I agree that Putin has re-invigorated Russia after the fool Yeltsin allowed the rise of criminal syndicates to take over the economy. but Putin is KGB at heart. quite a few Russia experts have all related Putin's story and his motivations. I read many years ago how Russians long for strong leaders. they grew used to Stalin and Brezhnev and it was Putin who said that Gorbachev made the worst mistake in Russian history abandoning the USSR. Putin rose on the back of such sentiments as a strong leader. and he knew how to control the criminal elements. many were locked up while the Russian state confiscated much of the accrued wealth, dachas and boats. Putin acquired a large slice of the booty himself. but the oligarchs that he befriended survives, eg Prigozhin, while many dissidents were imprisoned. so in effect oligarchs learned their place in the Russian economy.... they accepted they had to keep their heads down if they wanted to survive, and to pay obeisance to Putin and his people. just as it was under the former USSR leaders. and certainly the cool war continues since Putin won the leadership. no detente yet no clear animosity, but Putin, via Prigozhin's services, wrought great damage to the US in the lead up to the '16 election. Putin got the man he wanted in the White House, and played merry hell from all i've heard/read. but I get your view of BRICS. so in comes Iran and UAE. Argentina follows along desperate to get some help and African states too are seeking to join, courtesy of Russia and Chinese foreign aid. I'm surprise Lebanon hasn't applied. China has reviled the WTO as unfair and Putin has always had a tough time with the UN. it's understandable they would want to build an alternative trading bloc and set their own rules. Neither leader wants to live by the UN rules of fair trading and peaceful coexistence. they'd have to abandon some of the favourite ambitions. yes, and human rights isn't high on the Russo/China agenda. pretty sad result for Russia's lates moon shot effort hey.... they'll get some help from China no doubt. I've not heard much about the Chinese mission on the dark side since the landing, have you?

You are brainwashed by US propaganda. Neither you nor any so-called experts have produced a shred of evidence that BRICS , or any member of BRICS, is planning on building a worldwide empire anytime in the foreseeable future. That should be China's ultimate aim though. You don't provide any evidence and bitch about your critics not providing evidence to counter your outlandish suppositions. What do you expect?
