BUT there could be a sleeping giant in the HGST agreement - I've tried to go back as far as I could on ASX announcements relating to HGST but couldn't find anything specific... Now trawling the annual statements and other packs to see if any details are contained in there

i note that all of the statements about patents indicate that they are royalty free... so we know if they sell the IP (not the company) then they don't owe anyone anything. But they surely won't do that, given how much skin they all have in the game for a liquidity event (turkeys don't vote for Thanksgiving...)
