Exactly. AFR has never been owned by Murdoch/News Ltd.. I think a lot of people mistakenly assumed that it is/was because it is a financially-focussed paper (so I guess must be aligned with the 'big end of town'). But the association is flawed. Bloomberg is probably the biggest financial/business media outlet out there, and Michael Bloomberg is basically a bleeding-heart liberal (albeit one who likes low taxes).
