yeah, hard to imagine that STX is not feeling a great deal of pressure from diehard STX shareholders to drop the TPD deal as a way to restore the share price. Many who don't understand the deal will only care about share price resuscitation and so STX has to educate and reassure these nervous nellies that the deal is worth it!!
With so much going on it is hard to decipher exactly who is the target of today's ann but I definitely think recent TPD arrivals (ie speculators) gambling on a better ratio are in there. Despite it not being a significant impost, maybe that is the thinking behind W7....just a guess!
