@notoriousctwFirstly I don't recall anyone saying IVZ's main focus "should be marketing and self promotion solely in order to drive up SP."
Secondly, Spoke and NI have already been paid with millions of shares. There is legitimate discussion as to whether that was money well spent. There's no right or wrong answer, just opinions.
Thirdly, we may be here to "invest in the outcome" but some decent publicity brings in potential new investors and, more importantly, institutions with larger $ to invest.
If you're happy to sit and wait that's fine, but it's equally fine for the owners of the company to want the price to go up
