not sure if you are agreeing with me, but it seems you're not saying anything markedly different, other than making the point they intersected high pressure reservoirs (which i did not make, but alluded to by saying they could also produce Unit 2 and Unit 3) in the Alameda 1 well. And i absolutely agree with you there. The announcements are there for all to read. Pressure gradients in fractured rock reservoirs can be a lot more complex than for porous rock reservoirs. Pressure variations can occur over short distances owing to the fluid pathways and aperture and continuity of each particular fracture intersected in the well. It is for this reason, I would be advocating completion and production of a similar Unit 1B interval in Alameda-1 and monitoring reservoir response.

Some points of clarification. The separation distance between Alameda 1 and Alameda 2 in the vicinity of the perforated interval of the Unit 1B is a few tens of metres, based on their announcement. Separation of Alameda 1 and 2 in the vicinity of Unit 3 is a few hundred metres like you say.

The potential for multiple completions in Alameda 1 should not be disregarded. They will be looking at this and dont be surprised f they complete two sections for simultaneous production from independent zones (Im guessing Unit 1B and Unit 3). They will need a bit of specalised gear to do that, but it is a possibility. And as a short term value catalyst...it is without parallel.
