Over the decades I have bought the options in many cases to give me leverage in the early stages of sp appreciation.
When I entered BASO you could get 3X as many options as heads for the same money giving me 3X the upside in monetary terms.
I have never converted though, not once, I have always sold in the market in the months before expiry. Or, if the SP is not behaving taken the loss.
