This is a charming idea. And what would be some historical examples of this happening? I can't think of any. But for fun let's entertain the following hypothetical war and apply your thinking.
- After complaining about being threatened by Australia because of its alliance with the US (or whatever), Indonesia decides to invade the country, successfully taking NT and QLD.
- But then Australia pushes back, recapturing QLD and making steady inroads in NT.
- At this point, Indonesia proposes "peace talks", offering a deal to immediately end the war. All that Australia would have to accept would be letting Jakarta formally incorporate the Northern Territory into Indonesia.
According to your logic, Australia would be guilting of perpetuating the war (which we didn't start) unless we accepted this 'peace deal'? Compelling stuff lol
