It is however quite understandable that you would get this wrong, you are an inexperienced amateur.
But what excuse do these people have?
They are supposed to be expert economists. How could they get this so wrong?
Its not as though the information is hard to get to.

And its not like things are slowing down either.
Each day the news seem to be getting better for US corporate profits.
8 companies reported yesterday (30th of August) as per Trading Economics.
