So you buy on Tuesday.
Let's say the SP is $1.70
At this point you are entitled to the $1 per share payout.
You need to still be holding the shares at the COB to keep that entitlement.
On Wednesday morning, in the premarket, the share price will drop to reflect that.
Maybe by the full $1.00
Maybe less.
The shares will then open at a much lower price.
That is the price you will be able to sell for.
