Anyone who expected rates to stay at the low levels post GFC for a long time must have rocks in their head regardless of who said what. The long period of time when money could be borrowed for next to nothing was very hard on the lenders, which included a lot of older people who did not want to risk the stock market. All things, including money, deserve to have a fair price and a fair return. Near zero interest rates is NOT a fair return.
