(Matthew 16:18) And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

How, then do you interpret the above verse (Matthew 16:18) other than Jesus meaning that Peter is the rock or stone on which he (Jesus) will build his church?
