I've not been part of a company that's gone into the ASX200 before. There's been some chatter about what might happen over the next few weeks/months because of NEU's inclusion. Thought it might be interesting to look at what has happened to companies in the same boat recently. In the March 2023 rebalance, 4 companies were announced as being included in the ASX200 (there were no changes to the ASX200 in the June rebalance):
I've put each of their charts below, with the first month of trading from their inclusion from being announced highlighted in yellow (March 1- April 3). None of these companies had any real kind of boost from inclusion in the 200, and indeed Syrah Resources has just been removed 3 months later..
Obviously none of these companies is Neuren, and I'm not across any of their fundamentals whatsoever, but for those hoping for a nice boost to our SP because of our inclusion in the ASX200 (I was excited), well, it didn't seem to do much for these 4.
