Walmart doesn't care less about anything except profits. Dealing with them is a Faustian bargain that can easily send a company broke. If you are small company you have zero bargaining power.
You can be certain the HP Pro price drop to $499 was demanded by Walmart as a condition of stocking. Next they will be demanding rebates, promotions and furthers discounts. Possibly even exclusive rights. If the HP Pro doesn't sell quickly it will be dumped.
