But it could also be a strategic thing (in addition to needing to raise capital)
I.e. it's best the Malian government consider this to be a Chinese run operation going forward, rather than an Australian or FFX-linked company.
I am also happy for the Malian government to have this perception, as they are clearly making up things as they go along, and are far less likely to play hard ball with (or outright expropriate) a Chinese company backed by the Chinese state.
