Tony Abbott says "If you want to stop the taxes etc etc you gotta change the government"
Therefore -
If you want to stop the under preformance of Downer you gotta change the company.
Changing the company means cleaning up the whole Board, not just the CEO.
Moral of the story is that Downer are like the Labor government. The leader has changed but the company is the same. In fact the new CEO (ex CFO) is equally to blame for Downer's under performance.
Just like Prime Minister Gillard is/was equally responsible for all the failings (current and past) of the Rudd/Gillard government.
Just an observation. Maybe this is why the market reacted so negatively?
