So instead of facing up to shareholders at the upcoming AGM, to account for the woeful state QAN finds itself, he's running away.
Total cowardice.
Instead, what he should be doing, if he had any sense of decency or self-respect, is offering to stay on indefinitely, and on a purely pro bono basis, until the mess over which he has presided has been fixed and the now busted-up Qantas brand repaired.
What a piece of human garbage.
And what a piss-weak Chairman and board: they should compel him to serve his agreed term instead of giving him an easy out.
Little other than shameful corporate crony-ism.
(But of course, Qantas planes boldly emblazoned with "YES" messaging, so I guess that makes the insidious executive largess forgivable. Maybe more management time should have been focused on running the company than picking sides in political ideologies)
