the AU model isnt really a big deal for fees, just like a CC you have options to avoid them ie zip - pay the balance by end of month or cc - choose no annual fee card and pay balance before interest applies)

(if everyone using zip AU paid their balance back before the monthly fee zip AU would simply cease to exist, zip au is relying on those fees to survive - after all its the majority of their revenue)

but the USA model is a different beast altogether. $4 - $6 on every single purchases. unavoidable charge even if repayments are mady on time.

think about it if you used a CC twice a day, on zip USA that would be nearly $3,000 in fees per year. and thats making payments ontime. it makes all the CC annual fees look cheap as chips.
