Hi Hawkes - the type of deal and timeline is really an “it depends” answer. If a deal could see a sale of a substantial part of the undertaking of IMU then it needs shareholder approval but methinks that PH would structure a deal for single therapies in a way that doesn’t trigger that. So a licensing out or deal without an outright sale could be possible and thus have the board control it. I think he will want to control it - whatever it is. Deals like that don’t take months to complete once announced and move fast to manage market risk and as we don’t know what they are up to anything could be in the wind.
A hostile takeover can drag on for a very long time and it’s difficult to really comment on where that could come from at this juncture.
Although I can’t see PH relinquishing control over IMU as mentioned above, a friendly deal done under a Scheme of Arrangement can also drag on - see current deal between Brookfield and Origin Energy - started end 2022 and will go into 2024 if it proceeds.
I agree Rome wasn’t built in a day, but at this rate we won’t even have planning permission for foundations for quite a while!!!
