Reports in the press this morning state that offshore gas production in Victoria has dropped significantly in the last 12 months and to meet demands gas will either have to be imported from WA via construction of gas terminals in Victoria or an increase in local production. Gas terminals will take years to build and the gas crisis will have well and truly eventuated by then. Construction of off and on shore wind farms seems to stagnating because of environmental concerns so what is the alternative?. Already people at Barwon Heads and Torquay in Victoria already cannot access gas for heating during high demand periods. (conveniently overlooked by the press) but this problem will only increase as supply pressures increase. Unless Andrews or his replacement blink then this state is headed for an horrendous energy crisis which is of the government’s own making which only they can solve . So allowing LKO to proceed is a logical solution plus the royalties would be very handy as well. Therefore I’m taking up this new offer as for the relatively small amount involved as I have followed lakes for years. In for a penny in for a pound. Hope I’m right.
