Many of our definitions are different, which makes conversation a bit difficult, but we can make the effort.
NDE'rs describe a continuation of the self beyond death, however, whether that self continues after actual death is an unknown. I think it's possible. The way I make sense of reincarnation is to use the wave analogy again. If the wave is very well defined (that is, a strong ego or sense of self), it may reform in a similar pattern - that is, as a new human baby here on earth. If the wave has lost most of its amplitude and momentum, it may dissolve back into the One.
I don't think humanity and earth are the be-all-and-end-all. I reckon there's an infinite number of different worlds, galaxies and life forms. When our ego dissolves (after enough reincarnations, questioning and spiritual work), we may find ourselves in a new realm. A world without wars, violence, corruption, greed, etc would be nice.
