He was critical of Mineral Resources lithium operational capabilities for Mount Marion (only 4% Spodumene concentrate which is very low) and Wodgina. He was also not impressed by their purchase of Bald Hill which he noted has not operated very well and is not very big and only has an average grade of 1.0%).

On the positive side he described PLS operations as good with gold standard given to Greenbushes.

No mention of SQM but it made me consider who is the operator of the Kidman mine joint venture - I assume it is SQM as Wesfarmers has zilch experience in operating a lithium mines - at least SQM does have Brine experience but not hard rock.

My key takeaway was there is a key shortage of people/companies who are good at operating hard rock lithium mines. Makes me wonder how well LTR and Kidman JV will perform when they come online - it is questionable if they will operate effectively for a year or two - same applies for LLL and any other new lithium hard rock mines. It took PLS 18 months to get their mine to operate well.

Hopefully there will be a lot more good people who can operate AZS lithium mine when and if it is developed.

Mr Lithium seems optimistic about lithium net demand/ supply but is critical of investment banks view of a declining lithium price when they are projecting deficits in supply. - sort of illogical.

So in the real sense even SQM has zero hard rock mining experience. Which is id why i dont understand why Tony choose them to come onboard for 20%
