As per above attached, CVV already have some pretty big backers with pretty deep pockets (first link).

In a world where significant copper shortages are being anticipated (second link), and among rising copper prices, i honestly don't think project funding will be a problem.

Also, the $2 billion dollar NPV is pretty much a base case for present value. For each US$0.50/lb increase in copper price above the current copper price of approx US$4.00/lb, the project NPV increases by approx another $1 billion dollars more (as shown in the below screenshot).

If the project is increasingly profitable (as discussed above), then i don't think funding will be a problem (those institutional backers shown above obviously also agree).

An example of funding availability is also shown below. As you can see by the below article, billion dollar copper mining deals are currently happening in today's market (and in much more volatile and risky parts of the world compared to Aus). Quotes from the article shown below the image.

Current market cap of CVV is ~85 million (significantly undervalued IMO)

CVV Already Outlining a Plan for Project Funding & a Schedule to First Production

DFS has been underway since 2022 and is due to be completed in just over 3 months (as early as Quarter 1 2024)

After recent cap raise, CVV is cashed up with approx 13 million in the bank to progress and finish DFS.

After DFS is completed (as early Quarter 1 2024),project financing becomes the focus, and among various or combined financing options, CVV has highlighted a particular option within their below slide: "Offtake agreement may be structured to include equity participation".

CVV current market cap ~$85 million. Significantly undervalued IMO.
