The dynamic will undoubtedly be messy on the path to stability, SF, but I don't see the world running out of any of those 3 components, albeit a bumpy ride.
And along with all the everything's now or in the beginning of utilizing lithium batteries as an energy source, I'm starting to see AI robotics as the new frontier, which can only run off lithium batteries (unless someone invents something better). The brave new world of AI service robots is happening faster than any of us can imagine, and they will add a whole new dimension to lithium and processing demand. Cyborg like robots that can be independently programed as house maids, gardeners and cooks etc, and even Stepford wives to replace latex dolls for desperate men .
I'm already angling for a robot cook (price no object) programed to replicate the best of cuisine - for man cannot live on salads and burnt offerings alone, given privately educated chicks, like my wife, seem to get disorientated whenever they accidently wander into the kitchen - on account of all the flashing lights and mirror surfaces, I assume .
